- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 1 cup long-grain white rice
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
Instructions
- Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 15 minutes.
- Stir in rice, salt, pepper, and thyme, coating the rice with butter.
- Pour in beef broth and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes or until rice is tender.
- Fluff with a fork before serving.
Notes
- Use a non-stick skillet for easier cleanup.
- Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
- For extra flavor, add a splash of white wine while cooking onions.
